It's 2015 CrossFit Open season.
Make sure you've signed up at Games.Crossfit.com, because the games are about to begin. The rivalries, incessant scoreboard checking, the spandex leggings, and shirtless WODs are going down.
What is the CrossFit Open, You Ask?
If you don't already know, the CrossFit Open is the qualifying stage of the CrossFit Regionals, which leads to the big dog, CrossFit Games. There are five workouts (WODs), each will be released every Thursday during the CrossFit Open 2015 season. Your score must be submitted by 5pm Pacific time on the following Monday. You may attempt the WOD as many times as you would like during that window.
2015 CrossFit Open Schedule
15.1: Feb. 26-March 2
15.2: March 5-9
15.3: March 12-16
15.4: March 19-23
15.5: March 26-30
The CrossFit Open is $20 to compete in, you will need to complete the registration at the CrossFit Games Home Page
You will complete the registration questionnaire with your region, date of birth, and country. You will select either the "Male" or "Female" divisions. If you are between 14 and 17 years old, you can compete in the teenage division. There will also be Masters divisions for those over 40. If you age fall into one of the Masters categories, you will be automatically entered.
Also, every athlete competing in the 2015 CrossFit Open can complete the new scaled version of the WOD any week. This will however remove you from the Regionals or Masters qualifier contention.
